Former Labour Party vice presidential candidate Datti Baba Ahmed has faulted Peter Obi for walking away from the Labour Party rather than using his influence to resolve the internal crisis that eventually tore the party apart.
Speaking in an interview from 31:42 with Symfoni TV, Datti Ahmed said “Someone who obtained the Labour Party ticket so easily should have stayed to fix the problems of the Labour Party, however difficult they were. I stood firm, and I earned the wrath of many because I said, ‘Come and reconcile within the Labour Party.’ Only for me to read and even watch in the news my former leader, my boss, in whom I believed so much, saying that wherever there is a quarrel, he will walk away.”
He argued that a leader cannot afford to flee from conflict, warning that the same instinct to walk away when things get difficult would be disastrous in a national leadership role.
