In a recent interview from 26:54 on Arise TV, Kenneth Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), spoke on leadership styles within Nigeria’s political space, party dynamics, and the evolving opposition landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.

During the interview, Okonkwo stated, “Peter Obi has built nobody; BAT has made a lot of politicians, but Obi has built none.” He made the remark while responding to questions about political mentorship, influence, and how major political figures have shaped emerging leaders within their respective camps.

He referenced former presidential candidate Peter Obi, arguing that political impact should also be measured by the ability to develop successors, build structures, and sustain long-term leadership pipelines within parties and coalitions.

Okonkwo contrasted this with broader political experiences in Nigeria, noting that some national figures have, over time, produced a network of protégés who continue to play active roles in governance and party structures.

Okonkwo also insisted that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) continues to focus on building a sustainable political platform capable of competing nationally, despite ongoing defections and shifting alliances.
