Former Labour Party vice presidential candidate Datti Baba Ahmed has raised questions about the credibility of the new political alliance between Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Speaking in an interview from 29:32 with Symfoni TV, he said, “They are going together now with Kwankwaso — but will it work? I think that is a very big question. We will wait and see. However, there is a point to remember: why did Kwankwaso not support Peter in 2022 and 2023? What changed between then and now?”
He also raised structural concerns about the composition of the ticket itself, pointing out that pairing Obi who is being marketed as the voice of a new generation with a running mate who is older, more educated, more politically senior, and commands a following that effectively defines an entire region creates an inherent tension.
