The APC Publicity Secretary in Rivers State, Chibuike Ikenga, has denied having any confirmed knowledge that Governor Siminalayi Fubara was asked to simply take a bow and leave when he appeared before the party’s screening committee.
Speaking from 9:02 on Channels TV, Ikenga said, “We have not seen any case where any governor in a video was asked to bow and leave, particularly a serving governor. And if that happened, we should be able to do a comparative analysis as to whether Governor Fubara of Rivers State was asked to do so or was not,” he said.
He added that the party currently lacks clarity on how the screening was handled across the board. “As we speak, we do not know whether the serving or returning governors were asked to bow and go. If any APC governor was asked to take a bow and go, it could have been extended to the governor as well,” Ikenga said.
