According to a report from The Sun on Sunday, May 24, Senator Ireti Kingibe has been hospitalized following an assault by political thugs who stormed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Secretariat in the Gudu area of Abuja. The lawmaker explicitly named a man identified as Tijani Mubarak as the mastermind behind the violent disruption.
According to a report by The Sun, the attack occurred when Mubarak arrived at the party venue with several men and targeted the ADC officials and members gathered there.
Senator Kingibe detailed how the situation quickly escalated into physical violence inside the secretariat, directly accusing Mubarak’s associates of physical assault.
“One of Mubarak’s men turned on me… grabbed me, and flung me violently against the wall, hitting my head with severe force,” Senator Kingibe stated.
Following the incident, the lawmaker was rushed to the hospital after suffering from severe headaches and blurred vision.
