Senator representing Anambra Central, Senator Victor Umeh, has alleged that former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar cannot join the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), becUse the party has already committed its presidential ticket to a southern candidate.

Speaking in an interview from 16:24 with Channels TV, Umeh said, “Atiku is somebody who stands against zoning, and the NDC has confirmed that its presidential candidate will come from the South. These are the things they did not give the ADC the opportunity to address to be able to be stable as a platform, given the sensitivities of Nigerians towards issues that border on rotation of the presidency. Atiku stayed in the ADC and pretended that it was not an issue. Those who are supporting him are saying that there is no need for zoning and that everybody should just go there.”
