In a recent interview with The Sun on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, Kaduna-based Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmed Gumi, has stated that Nigeria needs a comprehensive approach to tackle insecurity, warning that current efforts are not enough to bring lasting peace.
Gumi explained that the fight against insecurity should not be handled in a scattered or partial way, according to him, focusing on one area at a time only brings short-term success.

Gumi raised concern about the lack of clear information in some cases, he said there are still places where the people behind violent attacks are not properly identified, this, he warned, makes it more difficult for security agencies to respond effectively and prevent further incidents.
He urged authorities to look beyond temporary gains and focus on long-term solutions, according to him, without a unified and broad strategy, the cycle of violence will continue to repeat itself across different parts of the country.
”Well, I believe the solution to insecurity must be holistic, not fragmented or patch-patch. What we are seeing now is that when security efforts succeed in one area say along the Kaduna-Abuja, Kaduna-Kano, or Kaduna-Gusau corridors, the situation improves temporarily,” he said…Read_More…
