Senior Advocate of Nigeria Monday Ubani has called on INEC to restore Senator David Mark’s name to its portal as ADC National Chairman, arguing that the Supreme Court ruling has cleared the Mark-led leadership of any immediate legal liability.

Speaking from 10:18 on Arise TV, Ubani said, “The David Mark leadership for now has no legal liability. The only legal liability he has now is that somebody has gone to court and they are asking him to go back to that court in order to present whatever position he wants to present before this issue of status quo ante bellum. The leadership’s name was there, it was on the INEC portal. So what should INEC have done? What INEC did was, immediately that status quo order was made, they removed David Mark’s name. So INEC should restore Senator David Mark’s name,” he said.

Ubani made clear, however, that the legal battle is far from over. He noted that the challenge to David Mark’s leadership remains active in court, and the outcome will depend on whether the court treats it as a purely internal party matter in which case it may decline to intervene or concludes that something irregular has occurred and steps in to make a determination…Read_More…
