An All Progressives Congress senatorial aspirant in Katsina State, Kabiru Ahmed, has strongly rejected the outcome of the party’s senatorial primaries, describing the exercise as manipulated and lacking credibility.
Ahmed, popularly known as Arch. Kabiru Ahmed, made the allegation during an interview from 32:16 on Trust TV while reacting to the emergence of a consensus candidate reportedly backed by Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda. The aggrieved aspirant accused party leaders of imposing a preferred candidate and ignoring what he claimed was the genuine will of party members and delegates.
The APC chieftain expressed anger over the conduct of the primaries and the subsequent results announced by party officials. According to him, the process did not reflect fairness or transparency and should not be regarded as a legitimate exercise.
“I swear by the Almighty that the primaries conducted by Dikko are fictitious and rigged. And I swear by Allah and I’m swearing again,” Ahmed said during the interview.
He insisted that the exercise was predetermined and alleged that the outcome had already been decided before delegates were allowed to participate. Ahmed argued that such practices could weaken internal democracy within the ruling party and discourage loyal members who believe in fair competition.
The senatorial aspirant further maintained that he would continue to challenge what he described as injustice within the party structure.
