Yoruba Nollywood actress Ebunoluwa Edafe, who is also wife to popular actor Olu Olowogemo, has opened up about a tense meeting between her father and her ex-boyfriend.
Speaking in an interview from 18:42 on Talk to B podcast, she shared how her father reacted after finding out she was pregnant.
Her dad was angry at first. But her mother talked to him, and he agreed to let the boyfriend come to their home.
Edafe admitted she was worried. Her boyfriend is a Muslim, and her family are devoted Christians.
Her mother managed to convince her father to give the young man a chance. But the father had a strange request. He told Edafe to ask her boyfriend to bring his CV.
She did not understand why a CV was needed. It was not like he was applying for a job. But her father had a plan. He wanted to check every detail on the CV to learn more about the young man.
When the boyfriend arrived, her father looked at the CV carefully. He first saw that the young man only had a diploma.
That made him upset. Then he saw the boyfriend’s religion. He was a Muslim. That made her father even angrier.
Her words: “I got pregnant for my boyfriend, and when my father heard about it, he got angry. After my mom spoke to him, he asked me to bring my boyfriend home. However, I know my father is strict, so taking him home was another problem because he is a Muslim and we are devoted Christians. But my mum was able to convince my dad. So my dad told me that when I bring him home, he should come with his CV. I was wondering why he needed to come with a CV when it is not like he is looking for a job. Unknown to me, my dad was going to check all the details in the CV to learn about him.
