Senator representing Anambra Central, Chief Victor Umeh, has praised Peter Obi for what he described as the transformation of Anambra State during Obi’s tenure as governor, saying the former governor laid a strong foundation for economic growth, education, and civil service reforms.
Speaking during an interview from 36:08 on Trust TV, the senator noted that the former Anambra State governor focused heavily on improving education and ensuring that schools received adequate support, adding that many communities witnessed major improvements in infrastructure and public services during the period.
“He turned the state around from being a laughingstock into a stable state with a stable economy and a stable educational system. What Obi did in Anambra State is a model, and remember, he was able to rehabilitate the civil service. Every school in Anambra State had a bus, with over 500 buses.”
Umeh further stated that Obi’s style of governance continued to attract attention across the country because of the emphasis placed on accountability and prudent management of resources, stressing that the achievements recorded in Anambra State remain a reference point in discussions about leadership and development.
