Chidi Odinkalu, a renowned human rights activist and former chairman of the national human rights commission has taken to his official X handle to express concerns over what he believed was a flagrant disobedience to it’s rules by the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Reacting to the recently concluded primary elections held by the APC across different parts of the country, the respected professor pointed out that the party had set up themselves with the new electoral act.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle on Wednesday May 20th, 2026 he pointed out that the party, by refusing to declare the results of the primary elections, might have initiated a process that will eventually destroy them.
He further pointed out that the APC administration established Judges and built houses for them, but their refusal to follow due process might pitch them against the judiciary, as aggrieved members will go ahead to seek redress in the law court.
However, while he maintained that the APC believed they were untouchable, he also pointed out that the upcoming events might not favor them.
