Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has cautioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over what he described as possible efforts by the United States to undermine his administration ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The cleric said Tinubu should not assume that Washington would support his bid for another term, alleging that the US could take steps aimed at pushing the President out of office.
“Tinubu, the honest truth is that America will want to do everything to remove you out of power,” Primate Ayodele said.
Ayodele also claimed that the United States could rely on information allegedly in its possession to exert pressure on the Nigerian government.
His latest warning forms part of a series of statements he has made about Nigeria’s relationship with the United States as political activities ahead of the 2027 election intensify.
In July 2026, Ayodele warned Tinubu against depending on America for political backing, claiming that the US had its own interests in Nigeria and could seek to influence the country’s electoral process.
