The Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal has alleged that the whereabouts of these bandits are known in Zamfara state and that even their parents are identified. He acknowledged the efforts of security forces, including the military and police, in maintaining law and order but stressed the need for decisive action against bandits.

He commended the recent collaborative effort between the military, CPG, and the community, which led to the killing of Halilu Sububu and his group within the last three days. He argued that this achievement highlights the potential for success when security forces and the community work together.

It is worth noting that Governor Lawal has taken significant steps in addressing security concerns in Zamfara State. He has established the Zamfara Community Protection Guards (CPG), also known as “ASKARAWA,” to combat banditry and kidnapping in the state.

He said in an interview with Arise TV from 4:11, ”It is the responsibility of the Federal government to provide safety of people lives and property. And which is the duty of the security forces that include the military and the police. They are doing their best but they need to deal with these guys decisively.

We know where these bandits are living in and we even know their parents. Our security have the ability to crush these guys but they have not been able to do that. What happened within the last three days that led to the killing of Halilu Sububu and his boys was the combination of both military as well as the CPG and the community. And I commend them for that.”
