ADC chieftain Kenneth Okonkwo has criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his absence from the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in the United States.
A video from 0.15 posted on the official X account of Arise News on September 23, 2026, captured Okonkwo discussing the president’s decision to send Vice President Kashim Shettima to represent him at the event.
Okonkwo recalled an earlier statement by Tinubu’s aide, Jimoh Ibrahim, who had said the president would attend the UN gathering and sit in the front row alongside US President Donald Trump.
According to Okonkwo, that prediction did not happen because Tinubu was not present at the event.
“ He has not attended the United Nations General Assembly for three consecutive years.
“Remember that Jimoh Ibrahim told us President Tinubu will sit at the front row with trump but he lied. The President didn’t go”.
Okonkwo made the remarks while questioning Tinubu’s absence from the annual UN gathering.
