Political analyst Jide Ojo has questioned what he described as differing positions between NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi and his running mate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on fuel subsidy.
Speaking during an interview from 2:27 on Trust TV on Thursday, September 24, 2026, Ojo recalled Obi’s statement at a recent Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference in Port Harcourt that he would not reintroduce fuel subsidy if elected president.
Ojo then questioned why Kwankwaso appeared to hold a different position on the issue, arguing that both candidates should present a consistent position to their supporters.
According to him, “We know everybody has got their own opinion about how this subsidy issue should be handled. I recall that Peter Obi said in Port Harcourt at the NBA conference recently in Port Harcourt that he will not reintroduce subsidy. So why is his running mate speaking from the other side of his mouth? I think they need to harmonize their position rather than creating confusion in the minds of their supporters.”
