In a video shared by Arise TV from 27:27, Philip Shaibu, the reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, was asked how he could be a member of PDP, but still support the candidate of the APC in the upcoming Edo governorship election.

Shaibu explained that he learned this approach from the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki. He said during the last presidential election, Governor Obaseki supported the Labour Party. He said Obaseki’s wife also campaigned for the Labour Party and stated that the APC’s candidate, Bola Tinubu, and the PDP’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, can’t win.

In Shaibu’s words: “During the last election, the governor (Obaseki ) was supporting Labour, his wife was campaigning for them, she said Tinubu cannot win, Atiku cannot win. So I am learning from them. The governor said he has the right to support anybody. So if the governor has told us we have the right to support anybody, I also have the right to choose who I want to support”….Seë_Morë
