Former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has recalled attending Governor Hope Uzodinma’s inauguration in 2020 despite being ill, saying he made the effort to show his support and offered to work with him.
Speaking in an interview from 31:32 with Channels Television, Okorocha said he had a drip attached to his hand on the day Uzodinma was sworn in but covered it with his babanriga before travelling to the inauguration.
He explained that he took a flight with former Zamfara State Governor Yerima and attended the ceremony despite his health condition. Okorocha added that he approached Uzodinma after arriving and expressed his willingness to support the new governor.
He also maintained that he holds no grudges against people, despite the political disagreement between them.
Recalling what happened, Okorocha said, “The day he got sworn in I had drip in my hand, I had to cover it with babanriga. I took a flight with Yerima, former governor of Zamfara, and we flew there. I was sick but I went there to support that he is sworn in as the governor. And I opened up and said ‘Come let us work together, I will support you'”
