A former national chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, Peter Ameh, has dismissed claims that former Anambra State governor Peter Obi introduced identity cards for northerners living in Anambra State.

Speaking during an interview from 51:14 on SYMFONI TV, Ameh described the allegation as false and misleading. According to him, there is no record or document showing that Obi carried out such a policy while serving as governor.

He argued that the policy being discussed was actually introduced by former Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha during his time in office. Ameh insisted that people should avoid spreading unverified claims against political figures.

He also said public discussions should focus on verified facts and issues affecting Nigerians, including leadership, governance, and the management of public resources, instead of spreading false stories.

Ameh maintained that information shared online can easily be checked and that there is no evidence linking Obi to the ID card policy in Anambra State. He urged Nigerians to be careful with political narratives and always confirm information before accepting or sharing it.
