The governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde has stated that they are trying their best to ensure the return of those who were kidnapped.
This statement was contained in a viral video from 1:53 that was posted on the official X handle of News Central TV on Tuesday, June 1, 2026.
This is coming after bandits stormed a school in the Oriire Local Govenment Area of Oyo state and kidnapped several students and teachers. Seyi Makinde made the statement while appealing to some people who were protesting in Oyo state.
In the video that surfaced online, Seyi Makinde begged the protesters to have trust in the government. He said the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent security operatives into the state and he has been holding meetings with them.
