Buba Galadima, a member of the NDC, has spoken out against those in northern Nigeria who oppose the presidential candidacy of Peter Obi because he is Igbo.

In an interview from 12:12 with Arise TV, Galadima stated that some northerners said they won’t support Obi because Igbos killed northern leaders during the first military coup of 1966. He said Obi should not be made to bear responsibility for events that happened during the coup which he had no part in

Galadima said that even Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, whose actions he said led to the deaths of many people, was later pardoned. He said Ojukwu returned to Nigeria and took part in the country’s electoral process and government.
