According to a report by Punch on Thursday, June 4, 2026, Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho, has issued a warning that he may publicly reveal the identities of politicians allegedly responsible for the abduction of students in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Speaking on the situation, Igboho recounted how he was contacted regarding the kidnapping and the threats that followed.

According to him, “Later, they (Oyo government) informed me that the kidnappers said if I try to force myself to come rescue the children, they will kill them all.”

He explained that this warning was relayed to discourage any direct intervention from him and his associates.

Despite the threat, the activist maintained that decisive action remains possible if authorities are truly committed to rescuing the victims.

He argued that local forces familiar with the terrain could effectively confront the kidnappers.

In his words, “If they are serious about rescuing the victims, they should tell my boys and me to chase them out of the forests in our regions and see if those people will remain there even with their bombs and sophisticated weapons.”
