Iran’s ambassador to China, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, commended Beijing for its continued support during what he described as “difficult times” while stressing the growing strategic partnership between Tehran and Beijing during a press briefing in the Chinese capital.
In a video from 0:32 shared by DRM News, the envoy addressed concerns over maritime security in the Gulf region and Iran’s position toward countries it considers allies. He said, “We will never open fire on ships belonging to countries that are our friends and maintain deep strategic relations with us.”
The statement came shortly after Chinese authorities confirmed a tanker-related incident near the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route that has repeatedly been at the center of regional tensions. The development has raised fresh concerns over the safety of commercial vessels operating in the area.
Rahmani Fazli emphasized that Iran’s policies are guided by its diplomatic and strategic ties with friendly nations.
