According to a video 00:01:53 posted on Sky News, on Sunday July 12, 2026, political analyst Joe Siracusa said a general once told him this war will go on until the very last rocket or missile is fired.

He shared this comment while explaining why he believes the conflict between Iran and the United States is far from over.

Siracusa said the continuing standoff is already causing damage on multiple fronts.

He pointed to rising costs for President Trump heading into the midterm elections, along with pressure on inflation and oil supply. He said Iran appears willing to wait out the pressure, hoping President Trump eventually steps back from the confrontation.

The analyst also addressed claims that Iranian leadership is split between hardline and moderate voices.

In his words, Joe Siracusa said, “So, they’re going to tough this down as long as they can, hope that Trump goes away, but you know it’s going to hurt Trump in the midterms.

“It’s going to hurt inflation. It’s going to hurt oil supply. As I heard one general say today, this war will go on to the last rocket or the last missile is shot, so maybe that’s true, too.”
