‎According to a report by Daily Post, on Tuesday May 5, 2026, the Kwankwasiyya movement’s spokesperson, Habeeb Saleh Mohammed has expressed strong support for a joint presidential ticket between Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, saying it could promote fairness and national unity ahead of the 2027 elections.

‎Speaking on behalf of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Mohammed described the proposed alliance as one of the most balanced political combinations in Nigeria today, he explained that bringing both leaders together on a single ticket would create a sense of inclusion across different regions of the country.

‎According to him, such a partnership would not be about where the candidates come from, but about their ability to lead and deliver results, he stressed that competence should be the main factor in choosing leaders, rather than ethnic or religious considerations.

‎Mohammed dismissed fears that the North might strongly oppose the idea, he said many voters in the region are capable of making rational decisions and are increasingly focused on leadership quality instead of identity politics.

‎He added that Nigerians are facing serious economic and social challenges, and are more interested in leaders who can provide solutions, because of this, he believes a joint Obi-Kwankwaso ticket could attract support from different parts of the country.

‎The Kwankwasiyya spokesperson noted that combining Obi’s popularity in the South with Kwankwaso’s strong grassroots influence in the North could create a powerful political force, he said such a ticket would reflect national balance and help bridge existing divides.
