The National Youth Leader of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Owoyombo Gbenga Solomon, has urged former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi to consider joining the YPP, citing what he described as a growing youth-driven political movement in the country.
Solomon made the call during an interview from 6:50 on Channels Television, where he argued that Obi’s political ideology aligns closely with that of the YPP, particularly in its focus on youth inclusion and progressive governance.
Highlighting recent political developments, Solomon said, “When he visited Kano, the people that were shouting ‘Obi and Kwankwaso’ were young people.” He noted that the enthusiasm displayed by young Nigerians reflects a shifting political landscape, where the youth demographic is becoming increasingly influential in shaping electoral outcomes.
He further emphasized that the YPP represents a platform that embodies youthful ideals and progressive thinking, making it a suitable political home for leaders seeking to connect with Nigeria’s younger population.
