Former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Chidi Odinkalu, has questioned the figures released from the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election that produced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s candidate for the 2027 election.

Odinkalu reacted after Tinubu reportedly emerged with more than 10 million votes in the primary election, defeating his challenger and securing the party’s ticket.

In a post shared on social media, the human rights advocate compared the reported vote tally with the APC membership figures and expressed concerns over the numbers.

Odinkalu also criticised opposition parties, accusing them of remaining silent over the development.

“The only thing worse than this is that the so-called opposition parties and politicians are all complicitly silent,” he added.
