Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has warned that members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) could face attacks in communities where residents oppose the ruling party and are angry with the government.
According to a Daily Post report on Monday, October 26, 2026, the cleric raised the concern in a video statement circulating on Sunday, linking the potential hostility to economic hardship and insecurity in the country.
Ayodele pointed to rising prices of goods and essential commodities, saying the cost of living had placed pressure on households struggling to meet their daily needs.
He also highlighted the increasing financial burden of school fees on parents and guardians, alongside persistent security challenges affecting Nigerians.
The cleric warned that dissatisfaction over these issues could heighten political tensions as activities ahead of the next election gather momentum, potentially putting APC members at risk in areas where the party lacks public support.
Issuing his warning about the possible consequences of public anger, Ayodele said, “I am telling you in confidence, they are going to attack the people of APC in areas where they don’t want APC and people are angry,” he said.
