Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that Israeli forces are nearing what he described as a decisive moment in operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, amid intensified military activity along the northern front.

“We are, in effect, about to eliminate this great stronghold of Hezbollah – Benjamin Netanyahu.”

Speaking in an interview from 0:24 on IsraeliPM, Netanyahu pointed to ongoing fighting around Bint Jbeil, long regarded as a strategic hub for Hezbollah. He said Israeli troops are making steady progress in dismantling militant infrastructure, including fortified positions and operational centers believed to be critical to the group’s activities near the Israeli border.

According to the prime minister, the latest phase of the operation is part of a broader military strategy aimed at creating a deeper and more secure buffer zone. He explained that pushing Hezbollah forces further away from Israeli communities is essential to reducing the risk of cross-border attacks and restoring a sense of safety for residents in northern Israel.

Netanyahu praised Israeli soldiers and commanders for their efforts, describing their performance as determined and effective despite the complexity of the terrain and the challenges of urban combat zones. He emphasized that the campaign is being carried out with a clear objective: to significantly degrade Hezbollah’s operational capabilities.

At the same time, Netanyahu highlighted that military pressure is being paired with diplomatic engagement. He confirmed that Israel is holding discussions with Lebanese authorities, with a focus on achieving the disarmament of Hezbollah and pursuing a long-term peace arrangement.

The prime minister also referenced close coordination with the United States on regional security issues, particularly concerning Iran. He noted that both countries share concerns over Iran’s influence and its support for armed groups in the region.

While expressing confidence in the current trajectory of operations, Netanyahu cautioned that the situation remains fluid. He said Israel is prepared for all possible scenarios, including continued fighting if necessary.
