According to a video from 34:56 posted on TVC News on Thursday July 23, 2026, security analyst Tony Ofoyetan called on Nigeria’s security agencies to adopt advanced tracking technology, including implanted chips, to monitor captured terrorist leaders.

Ofoyetan made the proposal while discussing what more the government should do following US President Donald Trump’s commendation of Nigeria’s counterterrorism efforts.

“See, some of these people, especially those that are the top, you can plant chips in their body, and once you plant chips in their body, wherever they go they become trackable.

“Monitoring chips, you can put it in their heart, you can put it in their liver, you can put it anywhere. It doesn’t make any difference once you have presented yourself as a terrorist, then you become somebody that is of high interest globally” he said.

Ofoyetan said Nigeria should not hesitate to acquire this kind of technology, even if it means buying it from other countries, since the country cannot afford to fall behind in its counterterrorism approach.

He said the government must be intentional about using every available tool, especially as the security bar has been raised by international attention and commendation….See More
