Charles Ideho, a public affairs analyst, has spoken about the release of the teachers and schoolchildren kidnapped in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Speaking in an interview from 0:52 with News Central TV, Ideho said one of the rescued victims, Mr. Olatunde Zacchaeus, stated that he and some abductees were blindfolded throughout their time in captivity.

Ideho said Zacchaeus disclosed that on the day they were released, the kidnappers suddenly became cheerful, smiling and laughing before telling the victims to thank God because they had been freed.

Ideho said Zacchaeus also stated that he was the last person to be freed because the handcuffs on his wrists were difficult to remove. Ideho questioned why the kidnappers were happy when releasing the victims and stated that there were still many questions that needed answers about how the victims regained their freedom.

In Ideho’s words: “He said the day they were released, the countenance of the abductors suddenly changed. He said they were laughing and smiling and they came to them the abductees to tell them, ‘Thank your God that you have at last been freed’. He said they were taken on motorbikes and he was actually the last to be freed because of the handcuffs on his wrist that refused to open.
