Asiya El-Rufai, wife of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu over her husband’s continued detention, referencing that both she and her husband campaigned for the president in 2023.

Speaking in an interview from 2:04 on Arise Television, she said, “Mr. President, I campaigned for you. I went to every nook and cranny of Kaduna State for you. I and my husband stood by your side. Is this what our family deserves? The ball is in your court, Mr. President. We just want justice.”

She said she did not want to speculate but admitted that reports and social media posts claiming her husband had been poisoned or was in danger had left her deeply worried.

She explained that denying him access to medical treatment, his doctors, and family members amounted to isolating him, with both medical and psychological consequences.
