In a video from 4:30 shared by Punch Newspaper on Monday July 20, 2026, Pastor Sunny Usoro, a pastor and visual artist, have given his take on the xenophobic attacks on immigrants in South Africa.

Recently, the Nigerian government has initiated an evacuation exercise for Nigerians residing in South Africa, as the death toll of Black foreigners in the country increases amidst the anti-foreigner campaign.

However, in the video, Pastor Sunny Usoro, a pastor residing in South Africa, revealed that he made the difficult decision to return to Nigeria after spending sixteen years in South Africa.

Pastor Usoro also labelled the anti-foreigner campaign in South Africa as political, revealing that he was twenty-nine years old when he relocated to the country and by next month he will be fourty-five years old making it sixteen years he had spent residing in South Africa.
