Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress (AAC) consensus presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, reflected on accusations made against him under past Nigerian administrations, saying claims about his political loyalties shifted depending on those occupying power during different periods.
According to a video from 11:25 posted on the official YouTube channel of PAPShow on Sunday, July 19, 2026, while speaking during an interview, Sowore recounted how different governments allegedly accused him of working for rival political figures across successive administrations.
He said the allegations changed over time, explaining that supporters of former President Goodluck Jonathan claimed he was working for Muhammadu Buhari, while people associated with Buhari later alleged he was working for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar instead.
During the interview, he stated, “in 2015, the Jonathan people said I was working for Buhari. By 2019, the Buhari people said I was working for Atiku. In fact, when they arrested me in 2019, they claimed I had met Atiku in Dubai.”
Sowore also recalled that the allegation concerning Dubai was made after his arrest in 2019, maintaining that the claim formed part of the accusations against him and insisting it reflected how narratives about him changed with political circumstances.
