According to a video from 18:06 posted on the official YouTube channel of Arise News on Thursday, July 2, 2026, ADC member Austin Okai expressed confidence in the electoral prospects of the party’s presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general election, arguing that public sentiment in Northern Nigeria strongly favors the opposition.

Speaking during the interview, Okai said the ADC was optimistic about its chances despite the campaign not yet officially commencing. He maintained that growing dissatisfaction with the current administration had influenced political opinion across many parts of the country, particularly in the North.

According to him, “We have not even started campaigning, but the North has already decided who will become the next president in 2027.”

Okai argued that many Nigerians were eager for a change in leadership, citing economic hardship, insecurity, and other governance challenges as factors shaping voter attitudes. He also expressed confidence that the party’s choice of candidates would strengthen its appeal across different regions.

He added that the opposition remained focused on presenting its policies and convincing Nigerians that it offered a credible alternative.

Okai concluded that the party would intensify grassroots engagement once its official campaign activities begin, expressing optimism about securing victory in the 2027 presidential election.
