Honorable Yusuf Gagdi, a prominent lawmaker representing Plateau State, has openly dismissed the political strategies of key opposition leaders, specifically targeting Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, regarding their plans for the upcoming general elections in the entire country.
According to a video from 23:38 posted on the official YouTube channel of Channels Television on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, when asked about the strength of the opposition, he stated, “I have not seen any effort being put in place by the opposition, including Peter Obi or Atiku Abubakar, to unseat or defeat President Bola Tinubu come 2027.”
The lawmaker argued that the current maneuvers of the leading opposition figures lack the strategic cohesion necessary to challenge the ruling party. He noted that mere public complaints on television cannot substitute for real grassroots political mobilization efforts.
Gagdi emphasized that the ruling All Progressives Congress remains fully focused on delivering its governance promises to citizens. He maintained that internal party dynamics are being handled democratically to ensure a unified front ahead of the next transition.
He further observed that the regional stability and development projects executed by the present administration speak volumes. According to him, voters are becoming more discerning and will judge leaders based on tangible achievements rather than empty political rhetoric.
The legislator urged politicians to prioritize national security and economic growth over premature electioneering campaigns. He stated that collective patriotism is required to navigate the country’s trying moments instead of constant blame games that divide the entire populace.
In his concluding remarks, Gagdi expressed absolute confidence in his party’s future political victory at the polls. He re-emphasized that the current administration is actively working to secure and stabilize local communities, rendering all opposition efforts completely ineffective.
