Convener of the Coalition of Delta North Youths, Ofochi Atagana has criticized what he described as the apparent slowdown of corruption-related cases involving former Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, following his reported defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Atagana made the remarks during an interview from 5:45 on Channels Television, where he expressed concern over the handling of allegations linked to the former governor. The discussion centered on claims that investigations into Okowa’s financial dealings have lost momentum amid shifting political affiliations.
Providing details during the interview, Atagana said, “When we now have somebody who has been indicted to have misappropriated or diverted a whooping sum of N1.3 trillion and another N40 billion which he cannot account for defecting from the PDP to APC and from there henceforth, the matter seem to have died. To us, that is unacceptable.” He reiterated the statement, stressing that the situation raises serious questions about accountability.
