Bashir El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has dismissed suggestions that his father’s criticism of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is linked to his failure to secure a ministerial appointment under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Bashir made the remark while responding to a question from a social media user on X who asked whether the former governor would still be at odds with the APC if he had been appointed a minister in Tinubu’s administration.
The user wrote: “Would Nasir El-Rufai still be fighting APC if Tinubu had made him a minister?”
Reacting to the comment, Bashir argued that even if his father had been appointed into the Federal Executive Council, he would not have remained there for long.
According to him, the former Kaduna governor would likely have resigned after becoming dissatisfied with the workings of the administration.
