Ambassador Blessing Fubara Senior, the elder brother of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has officially declared his intention to contest the Rivers State governorship election under the platform of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to a report by PUNCH published on Thursday, May 28, 2026, Fubara pledged to spend only one term in office if elected governor.
Speaking ahead of the party’s primary election, he described himself as a capable, energetic and prepared candidate committed to restoring peace, stability and economic development in Rivers State.
He also appealed to his supporters across the 23 local government areas of the state to come out in large numbers and support his ambition during the primaries.
Fubara said the movement is aimed at reclaiming the future of Rivers State and building a better government for the people.
He said, “I’m calling on my 2 million fans across the 23 local governments of River State that are carrying party holders of the Nigerian Democratic Congress to all come in mass, stand at your polling units, stand at your wards, make a statement for us to reclaim the soul of our dear River States.”….Read_More…
