Prince Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has called for national unity in the fight against corruption, insecurity, tribalism and injustice ahead of the 2027 general elections.
His statement was contained in a report published by DAILY INDEPENDENT on Thursday, May 28, 2026.
Adebayo made the call after formally accepting his nomination as the SDP presidential flag bearer at a ceremony held at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.
He urged opposition parties, civil society organizations and Nigerians across religious and ethnic divides to unite under a common purpose and support the SDP’s vision for national development.
According to him, Nigeria’s challenges require collective action and a deliberate effort to rise above divisions based on religion and ethnicity in order to achieve meaningful progress.
In his words, “Anybody who opposes corruption, insecurity, tribalism and injustice is part of the real opposition. Forget religion and ethnicity; come together and rally with the SDP.”….Read_More…
