Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has criticised President Bola Tinubu for spending holidays abroad, saying he would rather spend his own holidays in Nigeria if elected president.
In a video from 43:11 shared by Symfoni TV, Obi claimed Tinubu had never visited Anambra, Enugu or Bayelsa and spent the night in any of the states.
The former Anambra governor recalled that ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo stayed overnight in the state while he was governor, using the experience to question Tinubu’s visits to different parts of the country.
Obi also said he would spend his holidays in states facing serious security challenges, including Plateau, Benue, Zamfara and Borno, if elected president.
He said, “Today President Tinubu has never been to Bayelsa and slept there, he has never been to Anambra State and slept there, he has never been to Enugu and slept there. When I was governor Obasanjo slept in my state. Where has Tinubu been? He is taking holidays in France, who will take holidays in Nigeria? All my holidays will be in Nigeria”
