A Nigerian man popularly known online as Mr Bishop has shared a heartbreaking story about his late wife, revealing that she allegedly kept her HIV status from him throughout their marriage and only confessed shortly before her death.
Speaking during a live interview from 5:55 with media personality Daddy Freeze, Bishop said he met his wife in 2017 and believed they had built a loving family together. According to him, they got married and had three children.
He explained that in 2025, his wife suddenly became seriously ill. Concerned about her worsening health, he said he spent money seeking treatment and trying to understand what was wrong.
However, he claimed she avoided giving clear answers to doctors and frequently traveled away, citing different health problems.
According to him, the shocking truth only came later when she returned to Calabar and finally opened up to him. He said, “My wife hid her HIV status from me for years and told me only days before she died.”
He stated that the revelation left him devastated, especially because he had no prior knowledge of the condition during their relationship.
He further alleged that some members of her family and even people close to her knew about the illness but never informed him. Less than a week after revealing the secret, she reportedly passed away.
Following her death, Bishop said he also faced severe criticism online, with some people blaming him for her condition while others made damaging accusations against him.
He added that the emotional pressure and heavy medical expenses affected his livelihood, leading to financial losses and hardship.
Despite everything, he said his main concern now is caring for their three children, whom he said have tested negative.
