Senator Victor Umeh, representing Anambra State, has warned that Nigeria is the last country South Africa should provoke, pointing to the deep economic ties between the two nations.
Speaking in an interview from 6:25 with Channels TV, Umeh said, “If there is any country South Africa should be careful about provoking, whether we want to talk about respect or not, it is Nigeria.”
The senator highlighted that major South African companies operate profitably in Nigeria. “DSTV is here raking in money. MTN is here raking in money. Standard Bank and Stanbic IBTC are here raking in money, and Nigerians are treating them with full dignity. They increase their subscriptions and we pay, they are making money and taking it out of this country. What are we taking out of South Africa?”
