Lere Olayinka, media aide to Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, has reacted to a heated exchange between All Progressives Congress (APC) National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka and Arise News anchor Rufai Oseni during a live television programme on Tuesday.

The confrontation occurred on Arise News Morning Show after Morka appeared on the programme to respond to Oseni’s criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s speech at the APC campaign flag-off in Kaduna State on Saturday.

During Monday’s edition of the programme, Oseni had described the president’s speech as watery and poorly written by his media handlers.

However, Morka challenged the journalist’s assessment during Tuesday’s broadcast, accusing him of presenting himself as a journalist while allegedly speaking on behalf of opposition politicians.

The APC spokesman also criticised individuals he called “opposition tribesmen,” accusing them of making disparaging and disrespectful comments on national television.

Addressing Oseni directly, Morka said: “A lot of opposition tribesmen who dressed as journalists came and said a lot of things on national television in a language that is completely disparaging, disrespectful, and wrong. I listened to you (Rufai), and maybe you don’t understand the nature of a campaign rally.”

Morka subsequently told the Arise News anchor to direct his opinions and advice to opposition politicians rather than offering suggestions on how the president’s speeches should be written.

He added, “Take your opinion and advice to the opposition rather than advice on writing a speech for the president, nobody is asking for your help.”

Reacting to the exchange, Olayinka posted the Yoruba expression “Ko ju bee lo,” commonly used to suggest that a situation has gone too far or that someone has crossed a line.
