Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo says casting out demons was part of his life long before politics, and that experience now shapes how he confronts cultism and insecurity in the state.
He spoke on Sunday at The VOTAGE Church, also known as The Voice of This Age, at the WINLOS Centre in Benin City.
Okpebholo said he was about 17 or 18 when he began casting out demons, years before he held any public office.
That background, he explained, is why the fight against insecurity feels familiar rather than new to him.

In the video, the governor tied his teenage spiritual experiences directly to his current stance on cultism, a security concern that has lingered in Edo State.
He said, “So fighting insecurity, most especially cultism, is not a new thing to me. It’s something that has been happening.”
