Sanusi Bature, spokesperson to Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has revealed details surrounding alleged attempts by the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to establish direct communication with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a period of intense political realignments.

Bature made the remarks during an interview from 7:12 on Arise News while discussing the political steps taken by Kwankwaso before his eventual exit from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). According to him, Kano State Governor Yusuf initially served as a channel of communication with the Presidency before Kwankwaso later decided to personally engage Tinubu.

Explaining the development, Bature said, “When the governor approached president Tinubu to discuss issues. Then Kwankwaso was beginning to run away from that discussion. And at a later time, he made himself clear that he needs to speak to the president directly because the president is his friend.”
