According to a report by News Central TV from 13:08, on Wednesday May 20, 2026, the internal crisis within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has reached a boiling point, with party chieftain Dr. Charles Oludare threatening a massive political rebellion against the national leadership over the controversial disqualification of legislative aspirants.

Oludare openly challenged the authority of the party’s national organs and federal officials, accusing them of subverting democratic tenets to serve the interests of a select few in the nation’s capital.

Oludare directed his ire specifically at key federal players, arguing that local representation should be determined strictly by local voters on the field, rather than by political appointees and party executives behind closed doors.

“Abuja should not be able to disqualify anybody. The people’s voice must be heard,” Oludare declared vehemently. “Democracy is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people not of Abuja, by the Minister of Interior, and for the APC Chairman. No.”

The party chieftain made it clear that even if aggrieved candidates are pressured into accepting financial or political settlements to drop their grievances, he will refuse to back down.

“So we have to know where this stands, because I am going to even if the candidates support it, even if the candidates were settled, I am for the voice of the people,” Oludare vowed. “And I will lead a one-man insurrection, and if they think I am not effective, they should ask GRV what happened to him in 2023.”

By referencing GRV an apparent nod to Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the 2023 Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State whose heavily backed campaign ultimately collapsed Oludare warned that heavy-handed political maneuvering and top-down impositions invariably lead to crushing electoral blowbacks.

Oludare, who hails from the Akoko region in the northern senatorial district of Ondo State, warned national party headers that they have completely misjudged the temperament and political resilience of the local population.

“We are going to we are, it is Ondo State, and I am from Akoko, and we are a people, we are stubborn,” Oludare concluded defiantly. “So you cannot lord over us. You cannot push us around. You cannot goad us around. We are not stupid.”….Read_More…
