Sanusi Bature, spokesperson to Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has revealed fresh details surrounding alleged efforts by Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to hold talks with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over a possible defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Bature made the disclosure during an interview from 7:42 on Arise News while speaking about political developments that reportedly took place before Kwankwaso eventually abandoned the proposed move. According to him, Governor Yusuf played a central role in arranging communication between the former Kano governor and the Presidency.
The spokesperson explained that after Governor Yusuf informed Tinubu that Kwankwaso wanted to discuss the issue of joining the APC, the President reportedly agreed and approved a meeting date for both sides to engage directly.
