The widow of a Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) youth leader in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) of Rivers State has called for justice after her husband was killed by suspected gunmen.
In a video shared by Channels TV, the woman, who spoke about the incident, said she was away searching for their daily needs when she received the shocking news that her husband had been attacked along Oba Road.
She said the gunmen reportedly shot her husband and four other women who were at the scene, leaving all five victims dead. According to her, her husband’s body is now at the mortuary, and she wants authorities to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
A resident of the community also confirmed the incident, saying the attackers stormed the area and opened fire on people gathered at a local spot.
The resident explained that community members rushed to the scene with their commander after receiving the alert, but they found the victims badly injured. Efforts to save their lives were unsuccessful as the injuries were too severe.
