According to a report by Nigerian Tribune, on Sunday April 19, 2026, Nigerian music promoter Ijoba Danku has claimed that he was attacked in Lagos over his political support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The incident reportedly happened on Friday around the Illeshu area, close to the well-known New Afrika Shrine, Danku, who is popular in Nigeria’s street-hop music scene for promoting young artistes, said he was attacked by a group of men while moving through the area, Danku is currently receiving treatment, and his condition is said to be stable.
In a video shared online from his hospital bed, Danku explained that the attack was not a random event, he said the assailants targeted him because of his open support for Tinubu and his political views ahead of the 2027 elections and added that he suffered injuries during the incident and that his car was also damaged.
The music promoter dismissed suggestions that the attack could have been caused by a robbery attempt or a street fight, according to him, the situation was clearly linked to politics.
“I was beaten on the streets of Illeshu, Lagos for supporting APC, Asiwaju for 2027. They wounded me and damaged my car,” he said. Read_More…
